D.A. Boyes Memorial Research Award 2024 – Jalisa Karim

Congratulations to Jalisa Karim, one of the recipients of the 2024 D.A. Boyes Memorial Research Award!

Jalisa is a WACH PhD candidate, supervised by Dr. Gillian Hanley. Jalisa received funding from the D.A. Boyes Memorial Research Award for the qualitative project below.

Endometriosis and Treatment Decision-Making in the Context of Pregnancy Planning
Jalisa is conducting in-depth interviews with endometriosis patients in BC who are currently making treatment decisions with the desire for a future pregnancy, or have recently experienced infertility or pregnancy. This qualitative research aims to help us better understand how endometriosis patients make treatment decisions in the context of pregnancy planning and how they may be better supported by healthcare providers. Patient partners with lived experience of endometriosis were involved in designing the project.
