Culminating in its 2022 launch, the Departments of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Pediatrics collaborated on the development of an umbrella program for graduate student training in Women+ and Children’s Health Sciences (WACH).
The term Women+ embraces women, transgender, and non-binary individuals.
If you would like additional information on this exciting program please email Natalie Twohey, WACH Program Manager.

The WACH program utilizes an umbrella style framework to capacitate a cross pillar program and facilitate the development of translational investigators. It provides for a foundational curriculum for all graduate students, followed by more focused work in one stream, such as Women+ Health, or Children’s Health, or Reproductive and Developmental Sciences (RDS).

The Oak Street campus includes BC Children’s and Women’s Hospitals, the Women’s Health Research Institute, and the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute. Many of the scientists and laboratories of the WACH Program are located here, although the WACH program includes faculty and students around British Columbia.
