Congratulations to Claire, who completed her MSc defense last week!
Claire is the first WACH student to defend their thesis.
Claire’s thesis project was: “Evaluation of the effectiveness of a web-enabled psychoeducational intervention for postpartum mental health for women in British Columbia.” She was co-supervised by Dr. Lori Brotto and Dr. Genevieve Breau.
We asked Claire what her top 5 experiences were during the MSc program:
1. Having the opportunity to conduct behavioural research that impacted real people in their daily lives.
2. Taking classes that specifically related to my intersecting interests in women’s health and mental health (e.g., WACH 512: Women’s Mental Health across their Lifecycle, WACH 503/SPPH 537: Perinatal Epidemiology)
3. Earning a Canada Graduate Scholarship – Master’s award for my thesis project proposal.
4. Being a part of the exceptional UBC Sexual Health Lab and providing mentorship to research assistants.
5. Getting to present my research at the Canadian National Perinatal Research Meeting in 2022 and 2023.
